Elaine Martin is a Candidate for North Down in the March 7th Assembly Elections.
Elaine has been a member of the Progressive Unionist Party since 1996. She has been employed in the community development field for the past 9 years.
Ms Martin sits on the ‘Art of Regeneration Partnership’ and the ‘Kilcooley Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership’.
Elaine was a founding member of the ‘Kilcooley Central Residents Association’; she also served as Secretary and Chairperson to the ‘Kilcooley Community Forum’. In her spare time she also volunteers for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Elaine moved to Bangor in 1970, was married in 1975 and has two grown up children and two grandchildren.

- Lobby government to end water rates; ensure domestic rates are fair and based on income not property value.
- Work in partnership to address the lack of affordable housing in the private and public sector.
- Tackle problems within the health service including unacceptable waiting lists and trolley waits.
- Work to ensure equality in education, providing everyone with a quality education regardless of background.
