- The Act of Union remains unchanged
- The Maintenance of the Union is securely placed in the hands of the people of Northern Ireland. The Union is, therefore, as secure as we - the people of Northern Ireland - wish it to be.
- In Accepting the Agreement the Northern Nationalists have formally acknowledged the right of the people of Northern Ireland to remain an intregral part of the United Kingdom for so long as it is their wish to do so.
- The Irish Republic has dropped its territorial claim to Northern Ireland and has formally recognised the right of the people of Northern Ireland to remain an integral part of the United Kingdom so long as it is their wish to do so.
- The iniquitious Anglo Irish Agreement has been abolished.
- The British-Irish Council comprised of representatives from the British Government and five British Assemblies (Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man and Channel Islands) along with representatives of the Irish Government will ensure that the totality of relationships within the British Isles are driven by a British agenda.
- Co-operation between Northern Ireland and Irish Republic Departments in areas of mutal benefit must be agreed and endorsed by the Northern Ireland Assembly.
- Responsibilty for the physical defence of Northern Ireland against terrorism will remain the duty of the British Security Forces. The Independent Commission will Acknowledge publicly and internationally, once and for all, that the RUC is the most professional and efficent police service in the world.
