The Progressive Unionist Party is committed to working for the reconstruction of Ulster society through the promotion of participate democracy where community action is initiated and controlled by the local community,
Party members are encouraged to work at local level for the development of community education and training programmes which seek to discover, draw out and develop the strengths and potential of ordinary people in the community
The Party is continually seeking to discover and develop community initiatives whereby low credit, creative leisure activities and quality community services and jobs are provided through co-operative endeavour as alternatives to managerial social services and a profit-dominated market economy.
