The Progressive Unionist Party regards the abuse of drugs and other toxic substances as a social malignancy and party members are encouraged to take an active and highly visible role in education and prevention programmes relevant to drug and substance abuse.
The party regards the unprecedented rise in drug and substance abuse as an indictment of social, economic and ethical values that have robbed society of the meaning and purpose of life, and we believe that drug abuse must be placed, and tackled, within its social perspective.
